Information for voters

Citizens of the UK, Republic of Ireland, Cyprus and Malta are eligible to vote in all UK and European Parliamentary elections. You must be registered to vote before the deadline for this election which is Tuesday 7 May 2019, for more information about registering to vote please contact your local council or go online to www.yourvotematters.gov.uk or www.gov.uk/register-to-vote.

European Union citizens who are registered to vote can choose to vote in the European Parliamentary elections either in the UK or their home country. European Union citizens wishing to vote in the UK must complete a UC1 form no later than Tuesday 7 May 2019. By completing a UC1 form, European Union citizens are agreeing to vote in the UK only and not their home country. You are not allowed to vote in the European Parliamentary elections in two countries. For more information about registering to vote please contact your local council or go online to www.yourvotematters.gov.uk.

Every voter has the option to either cast their vote in person at a polling station between 7am and 10pm on Thursday 23 May, or by post or proxy. 

To vote by post contact your local council. The deadline for applying to vote by post for this election is Wednesday 8 May 2019, or to appoint a proxy is Wednesday 15 May 2019. To apply for a postal or proxy vote contact your local council.
